OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) released a list of the top 10 safety and health violations:
- Fall Protection
- Hazard Communication
- Scaffolds
- Respiratory Protection
- Lockout/Tagout
- Powered Industrial Trucks
- Ladders
- Machine Guarding
- Electrical Wiring
- Electrical, General Requirements

Workplace safety is important. An injured employee often faces a financial burden in addition to the physical pain and suffering associated with an injury. The company suffers financial distress due to the employee being out because of the injury and possible OSHA fines. Overall employee morale can be reduced because of an unsafe workplace as well.
It was interesting that three of the top ten issues (numbers 5, 9 and 10) related to electrical issues.
