What is a Cobot?
I have to admit, I had to do a bit of research to find out. This article from Hannover Messe is pretty descriptive. It discusses robots that work with or collaborate with human workers. Thus, collaborative robot equals cobot.
Traditional robots work independently without regards to the people around them. Cobots may have sensors to detect human movements and are designed to work with humans. For example, a cobot may hand parts to a person for who performs the precise installation into an assembly. The sensors may also provide a much safer work environment.
