C&C Machine recently added a Harig 618 surface grinder to its equipment lineup. We purchased a used machine with 6” x 18” capacity. The surface grinder uses a magnetic chuck and wet coolant.
This addition will allow us to hold tighter tolerances than we can on our CNC mills. These tolerances can be linear dimensions and surface finishes.
We find this capability important when making tools and dies for our customers and ourselves. We also have a few production components that require us to outsource the surface grinding. Those operations can now be accomplished in house.
