Small Business and Manufacturing Survey – April 2024

In NFIB’s (National Federation of Independent Businesses) small business survey of April 2024, the overall optimism index increased by 1.2 points from March.

In terms of other business metrics, cost pressures and labor force availability issues remained prominent. The difficulty in filling open positions is particularly acute in the wholesale, construction and transportation sectors.

Our Perspective

Overall, we remain optimistic and business is doing pretty well. We are feeling the effects of inflation, especially the price of copper. We use copper to manufacture custom bus bars.
