We recently had the opportunity to machine custom components for a cryogenic system.
The small pins were made from 304 stainless steel. The pistons were made from Delrin. Delrin is a relatively common thermoplastic with a variety of uses.
About Cryogenics
Cryogenics is a system that produces effects using extremely low temperatures. These low temperatures are supplied by liquefied gases. Gases such as nitrogen, hydrogen and helium. Cryogenic systems use temperatures below minus 250 °F.
Many industries use cryogenic systems including medical, marine, automotive and electronics. These liquefied gases are used for the cooling of materials and as fuels.
Future Uses
Data centers are being built at a rapid pace due to the development of AI (Artificial Intelligence). These electronic components generate a lot of heat. Cryogenics are being considered for their ultra-cooling properties.
About C&C Machine
We precision machine custom components for a variety of systems including cryogenics, energy and electrical controls. We are in Oklahoma, USA.
