The Occupational Outlook Handbook from the Bureau of Labor Statistics provides information on growth projections for various jobs and occupations. The growth is projected to the year 2024. Here is the data for engineers and purchasing agents:

Interestingly, the top occupational growth is projected to be in the health care industry with occupational therapy assistants leading the way at 43% followed by physical therapist assistants at 41%.
