3D Printing is Being Used in Medical Device and Drug Manufacturing
According to this statement from the FDA, a new era is being ushered in in regards to 3D printing being used in medical device and drug manufacturing. Here are some interesting ways that 3D printing is being utilized:
- Implants are being 3D printed for a patient’s skull or facial reconstruction.
- Believe it or not, drugs are being 3D printed.
- In the near future, skin will be 3D printed onto a patient’s burn injuries.
At C&C Machine, we do not currently utilize 3D printing for these products. However, we do utilize 3D printing for prototypes and short run production of more industrial type products.
